The International Federation of Professional and Technical Engineers (IFPTE), AFL-CIO & CLC, is a diverse labor union advocating on behalf of more than 90,000 workers in professional, technical, administrative and associated occupations in Canada and the United States. The local 196 has 12 chapters in the state of New Jersey representing City,Municipal and State workers. Local 196 chapter 2 exclusively work with the South Jersey Transportation Authority.

IFPTE196CH2 is a local union in New Jersey chartered by the International Federation of Professional and Technical Engineers.The objectives of this Chapter shall be as found in the International
Constitution and shall be to unite into one labor organization all workers eligible for
membership, to secure improved wages, working conditions and other economic advantages for
our members through collective action, through advancement of our standing in the community
and in the labor movement, to provide educational advancement and training for officers,
employees and members, to safeguard and promote the principle of free collective bargaining,
the rights of workers and the security and welfare of all people, and to protect and preserve the
Union inthe performance of its obligations.
